Morfologik tavsif · Morphological description
Diagnosis: A species morphologically close to the I. narbutii group. It can be distinguished from I. narbutii, I. narynensis, I. rodionenkoi and I. rudolphii by the absence of a dark violet velvety blotch on the outer tepals (falls), from I. narynensis by the undissected crest, and from I. narynensis and I. rodionenkoi by the petaloid shape and violet colour of the inner tepals (standards). Perennial, bulbous, 2–5 cm tall herb. Bulb 1.0–1.5 cm × 2.0–2.5 cm, elongate-ovoid; tunics brown, papery; storage roots not swollen. Stem with strongly abbreviated internodes. Leaves 4–6, 5–6 cm long, 0.5–1.0 cm wide, well developed at anthesis, slightly falcate, gradually tapering, with narrow, white scarious margins, basally not connected into a sheath, green above, glaucous. Bracts equal, tightly sheathing perianth tube, in lower half pale green-coloured, in upper half green. Flower 1 (–2), blue-white and violet. Perianth tube 3.0–3.5 cm long. Falls (outer perianth segments) 4.0–4.5 cm long, 0.4–0.5 cm wide, with almost parallel sides; lamina (blade) ovate, 1.5–1.6 × 0.9–1.0 cm, background whitish with dark-blue stripes, not blotched. Crest undissected, narrow, obliquely triangular, rather acute, 0.7–1.0 cm long, slightly dentate, whitish, with dark blue stripes along its base and ridge. Standards (inner perianth segments) reflexed, 3.0– 3.5 cm long, 0.5–0.9 cm wide, narrowly oblong, with entire apex, bright violet. Style branches 2.0–2.5 cm long, ellipticoblong with apical lobes 0.7–0.9 cm long, 0.3–0.4 cm broad, pale violet; stigmatic lip semicircular. Stamens 1.7–2.3 cm long, with thin filaments; anthers 0.9–1.2 cm long; filaments 0.8–1.1 cm long. Capsule ellipsoid, subglobose with narrow wing at one end, reddish brown. Seeds non-arillate.
