Stems solitary or several, erect, at the base 3–5(–7) mm in diameter, finely sulcate striate, glabrous or sometimes in the lower part with very short white, spreading hairs. Stipules green, 10–15(–18) mm, triangular-acuminate from a wide, often dilated base, free, glabrous or more rarely ciliate at the margins. Leaves 8–12 cm, subsessile, with glabrous rachis. Leaflets in (2–)3–4(–5) pairs, narrowly elliptic to narrowly ovate, acute to obtuse or very shortly acuminate, 20–60 × 5–18 mm, glabrous on both sides, more rarely on underside sparsely appressed hairy in the youth.
