Rootstock strong, with short subterranean stolons 1−2(−4) cm. Stipules white- membranous, (7−)10−15 mm, adnate to the petiole for 2−4 mm, the lower ones ovate to oblong, obtuse, glabrous, the upper ones narrowly triangular-acuminate, ciliate at the margins. Leaves erect to prostrate and appressed to the soil, (6−)8−20(−36) cm; petiole 1.5−6 cm, like the rachis sparsely to loosely covered with spreading hairs. Leaflets in 12−18(−20) pairs, narrowly elliptic to elliptic or ovate, (4−)8−16(−25) × (2−)3−7(−12) mm, rounded to more rarely subacute, on upper side glabrous, on underside loosely covered with ascending hairs, ciliate at the margins. Racemes numerous, subsessile, 2−4-flowered, forming around the leave-bases a globose head. Bracts white-membranous, 6−10 mm, linear-acuminate, ciliate at the margins. Calyx (12−)14−18 mm, tubular, loosely or more rarely sparsely, at the teeth rather densely covered with nearly spreading hairs; teeth subulate, (5−)7−10 mm. Petals glabrous, yellow. Standard (18−)20−23 mm; blade 6−8 mm long, oblong-panduriform, emarginate, distinctly constricted in the middle, the lower part mostly wider than the upper part, narrowed into the short, cuneate claw. Wings (16−)18−20 mm; blades narrowly oblong, slightly dilated upward, distinctly emarginate, 10−12 × 3−4 mm; auricle c. 1 mm, claw 7−8 mm. Keel (13−)14−16 mm; blades slightly obliquely elliptic, with slightly gibbously curved lower edge and nearly straight upper edge, obtuse, 5−7 × 2.5−3 mm; auricle wide, c. 0.5 mm, claw 7−9 mm. Stamen-tube slightly obliquely cut at the mouth. Ovary with a stipe 1−2 mm, densely appressed hairy; style glabrous. Legumes sessile or with a stipe up to 1 mm, ellipsoid, 8−13 mm long, 5−6 mm high and c. 4 mm wide, keeled ventrally, narrowly rounded dorsally, contracted into a beak c. 3 mm, unilocular; valves thin, straw-colored, rather densely covered with spreading hairs.
