Podlech & Zarre (2013), vol. III, p. 2319Plants 15−25 cm tall, acaulescent to subacaulescent. Rootstock stout, to 15 mm in diameter, with short, thick branches covered with grey brown bark. Stems in basal parts densely covered with remnants of old leaves, parts of the current year, if present, up to 2 cm, up to 5 mm thick, densely covered with medifixed, appressed white hairs 0.5−0.7 mm. Stipules scarious, 4−7 mm, from a wide base narrowly triangular, adnate to the petiole for 2−3 mm, otherwise free from each other, appressed hairy at the base, subglabrous at the tip. Leaves 7−12 cm; petiole 2.5−4 cm, stout, 1.5−2.5 mm thick, with the rachis densely hairy like the stem, finally becoming hard and persistent. Leaflets in 3−5 pairs, elliptic to obovate, 10−30 × 6−20 mm, obtuse to rounded or minutely mucronulate, glabrous on upper side, on underside very sparsely furnished with medifixed, appressed hairs 0.3−0.8 mm, often only at the midvein and margins. Peduncles 9−12 cm, 2−4 mm thick, loosely to rather densely white hairy like the rachis.. Racemes cylindric, up to 8 cm long, 2−3 cm in diameter, very densely many-flowered; axis white hairy. Bracts scarious, narrowly triangular, 5−10 mm, acute, sparsely white ciliate at the margins with mostly basifixed hairs. Calyx ± ovoid-inflated, 12−15 mm, densely covered with strongly asymmetrically bifurcate to mostly basifixed, subappressed to ascending white hairs 1−1.8 mm, sometimes at the teeth with black hairs mixed in; teeth subulate, 3−4 mm, appressed white hairy on inner side. Petals yellow. Standard 18−22 mm; blade c. 6 mm wide, obovate, emarginate, at the base gradually narrowed. Wings slightly shorter than standard; blades narrowly oblong, obtuse, c. 6−7 × 1−1.5 mm; auricle very short, claw c. 11 mm. Keel c. 17 mm; blades obliquely obovate, with widely curved lower edge and ± straight upper edge; c. 6 × 2 mm; auricle indistinct, claw c. 11 mm. Ovary sessile. Legumes sessile, c. 10 mm long, 3 mm high, obliquely acuminate, keeled ventrally, deeply grooved dorsally, bilocular; valves with few appressed white hairs mostly at the ventral side.
