Stems stout, 25–30 cm, up to 8 mm in diameter, terete or slightly angular, loosely to densely hairy, sometimes partly glabrescent. Stipules whitish or reddish, firmly membranous, 8–20 mm, ovate to widely triangular, acute, sparsely hairy or subglabrous, shortly adnate to the petiole, otherwise free. Leaves 10–36(–40) cm; petiole stout, 1.5–6.5 cm, like the rachis finely striate-sulcate, loosely to rather densely hairy or sometimes glabrous. Legumes with a curved stipe 10–15 mm, oblong, 25–33 mm long, 9–11 mm high, c. 4 mm wide, keeled ventrally, narrowly rounded to flattened dorsally, abruptly contracted into a straight to slightly curved beak 3–6 mm, incompletely bilocular; valves coriaceous, longitudinally wrinkled, densely covered with spreading, white hairs 0.03−0.05 mm, glabrous with age.
