Podlech & Zarre (2013), vol. I, p. 48Plants annual, branched at the base, with subrigid white hairs 0.2–1 mm, very rarely the whole plant glabrous. Stems prostrate to ascending, 1–30 cm, loosely to rather densely covered with appressed to slightly ascending or with spreading hairs. Stipules whitish to greenish, the lower ones 1–2 mm, mostly wider than long, the upper ones up to 3.5 mm, triangular, all shortly adnate to the petiole, hairy. Leaves 1.5–10 cm; petiole 1–3.5 cm, like the rachis flattened, hairy like the stem. Leaflets in 1–3, more rarely up to 5 pairs, the terminal leaflet long stalked, all ovate to obovate, 4–15 (–20) × 2–8(–10) mm, rounded or truncate to retuse, on upper side loosely covered with appressed, on underside more densely with appressed to ascending hairs. Peduncles 0.3–3.5 cm, hairy like the stem. Racemes loosely 2–7-flowered. Bracts 1–1.5 mm, hairy. Calyx 3–4(–6) mm, shortly tubular, rather densely appressed hairy; teeth 1–1.5 mm. Petals whitish pink or more rarely violet. Standard 6–8 (–10) mm; blade elliptic, 2–5 mm wide, emarginate, cuneatly narrowed at the base. Wings 5–7(–8) mm; blades narrowly oblong, rounded to obliquely emarginate, 3–4 × 0.5–1 mm; auricle c. 0.5 mm, claw 2–3 mm. Keel 5–6(–7) mm; blades obliquely elliptic, with in upper part rectangularly curved lower edge and nearly straight upper edge, obtuse, 3–4 × 1–2 mm; auricle minute, claw c. 2–3 mm. Ovary sessile, hairy or very rarely glabrous; style glabrous. Legumes sessile, linear, distinctly and up to semicircularly curved, 10–30 mm long, 2.5–3.5 mm high and 3–3.5 mm wide, keeled ventrally, narrowly grooved dorsally, with a curved, short beak, nearly completely bilocular; valves thin, straw- colored to pale brownish, loosely to rather densely covered with appressed hairs 0.2–0.3 mm and with ascending hairs 0.7–1.2 mm, often inserted on little tubercles. Seeds quadrangular, c. 2 mm long, rugulose-pitted, pale brown, shiny. The species can be divided in three subspecies: 1 Stems and rachises densely covered with ± appressed hairs .................................................. ......................................................................................... 2c. subsp. hauarensis (Boiss.) Podlech − Stems and rachises covered with spreading hairs ....................................................................... 2 2 Calyx 3−4 mm, teeth 1−1.5 mm; standard 6−8(−10) mm ............................. 2a. subsp. arpilobus − Calyx 5−6 mm, teeth 1.5−2 mm; standard 12−14 mm .......................................................... .............................................................................. 2b. subsp. drobovii (Popov & Vved.)
