Podlech & Zarre (2013), vol. I, p. 713Plants subshrubby, 10−30 cm tall, forming semiglobose cushions, with fine, soft white hairs 0.5−1(−1.5) mm. Rootstock up to 10 mm thick, strongly divided, with many ligneous, often curly subterranean stolons and stems covered with remnants of stiff, old rachis. Stems of the current year very short. Stipules membranous, 5−8 mm, oblong-triangular, acute, adnate to the petiole for 3−4 mm, ± densely hairy. Leaves 6−18 cm; petiole 1.5−2 cm, like the rachis upcurved and often subflexuose, often hardened but not pungent, loosely to rather densely covered with ascending hairs. Leaflets in 14−30 pairs, oblong to elliptic or more rarely obovate, 1.5−7 × 1−3 mm, obtuse, on upper side loosely cotton wool-like hairy, on underside appressed hairy, often folded. Racemes subsessile or with a peduncle up to 3 cm, with spreading hairs, loosely 2−5-flowered. Bracts membranous, up to 2 mm, narrowly triangular, with spreading hairs. Pedicels 2 mm, hairy. Calyx 6−7 mm, campanulate, sparsely to densely covered with ascending hairs; teeth subulate, 3−3.5 mm. Petals glabrous or standard hairy, yellow with greenish nerves. Standard 9−12 mm; blade sometimes in the middle appressed hairy, 5−6 mm wide, obovate, emarginate, often slightly constricted below the middle, subabruptly contracted into the short claw. Wings 9−11 mm; blades narrowly oblong, obtuse to slightly emarginate, 5−6 × 1 mm; auricle 1−1.5 mm, claw 3−5 mm. Keel 8−10 mm; blades triangular, with rectangularly curved lower edge and straight upper edge, obtuse, 5−5.5 × 2.5−3 mm; auricle short, acute, claw 4−4.5 mm. Ovary sessile, densely hairy; style glabrous, below the stigma with minute hairlets. Legumes with a stipe up to 1 mm, oblong, 9−12 mm long, 4−5 mm high and 3−4 mm wide, obtusely keeled ventrally, rounded dorsally, with a beak 2−2.5 mm, nearly unilocular; valves thin-coriaceous, straw-colored, densely covered with long spreading hairs; fruit opening along the ventral suture.
