Rootstock up to 10 mm thick, with a pluricipital root-crown, in upper part densely covered with remnants of old leaves. Stipules white-membranous, 8−10 mm, adnate to the petiole for 3−5 mm, the lower ones ovate-obtuse, glabrous or toward the tip short-ciliate, the upper ones narrowly triangular at the margins and toward the tip ± densely hairy. Leaves 12−20 cm; petiole 3−6 cm, like the rachis sulacte adaxially, loosely covered with spreading hairs 1−2 mm. Leaflets in 6−2 pairs, obovate to more rarely elliptic, 7−13 × 5−7(−9) mm, rounded to shallowly emarginate, on upper side glabrous, on underside densely covered with ascending hairs, dull green to olive green, with more light, cartilagineous margins. Peduncles 4−8(−12) cm, loosely covered with spreading hairs up to 3 mm. Racemes very loosely 3−7-flowered, elongating at fruiting time and up to 5 cm. Bracts thin, white-membranous, linear-acute, 5−10 mm, densely ciliate. Peduncles c. 2 mm, hairy. Calyx 12−13 mm, tubular, rather densely covered with nearly spreading hairs, slightly glabrescent with age; teeth linear-acute, 3−4 mm. Petals yellow, fading red. Standard 18−23 mm; blade 9−10 mm wide, obovate, emarginate, narrowed into the rather wide claw. Wings 17−22 mm; blades narrowly oblong, slightly dilated upward, rounded, 8−9 × 3−4 mm; auricle c. 3 mm, claw 11−13 mm. Keel 17−20 mm; blades obliquely elliptic-curved, with widely curved lower edge and concave upper edge densely furnished with minute teeth, 7 × 3.5 mm; auricle very short, claw 10−13 mm. Stamen-tube slightly obliquely cut at the mouth. Ovary with a stipe c. 4 mm, hairy; style sparsely hairy in lower part. Legumes with a stipe 4−6 mm, narrowly ellipsoid, attenuate at both ends, 22−35(−40) mm long, 7−8 mm high and 10−11 mm wide, slightly keeled ventrally, grooved dorsally, narrowed into a triangular beak 4−5 mm, nearly completely bilocular; valves thin but tough, straw-colored, loosely to rather densely covered with long spreading hairs.
