Stems 5−8 mm thick, parts of the current year 1−5 cm, with internodes 2−5 mm, glabrous, densely covered with stipules. Stipules white-scarious, 5−8 mm, adnate to the petiole for 1−1.5 mm and above this in front of petiole connate high up, ± amplexicaul but free behind the stem, ciliate at the margins, otherwise glabrous. Leaves 3−5 cm, erect to obliquely erect; petiole 0.6−0.9 cm, like the rachis thin, flexible in the youth, glabrous or rarely sparsely hairy, the spiny tip 1−3 times as long as the uppermost leaflets. Keel 14−18 mm; blades obliquely elliptic-triangular, with above the middle strongly gibbous lower edge and ± straight upper edge, subobtuse, 5−7 mm. Stamen-tube obliquely cut at the mouth. Ovary with a stipe 1−3 mm; style long, hairy only at the base. Legumes shortly stipitate, obliquely ovoid, 14−17 mm long, keeled ventrally, flattened to shallowly grooved dorsally, subtriquetrous in cross-section, attenuate into a beak c. 3 mm, incompletely bilocular; valves coriaceous, rather densely covered with soft white hairs up to 1 mm.
