Rootstock divided with short branches, covered with greyish- brown bark. Stems several, in lower parts ligneous, branched, with red-brown bark, at the base up to 6 mm in diameter, finely striate, the stems of the current year 7–30 cm, striate-sulcate, in lower parts loosely hairy to sometimes glabrescent, in upper parts more densely covered with appressed, medifixed hairs 1−1.5 mm. Stipules greenish, narrowly triangular, 3–5 mm, adnate to the petiole for 1–2 mm, rather densely covered with subappressed white hairs. Leaves 4–10 cm; petiole 0.5–1.2 cm, like the rachis slender, loosely furnished with appressed to ascending hairs. Leaflets in 2–4(–5) pairs, linear to narrowly oblong, 12–27 × 1.5–5 mm, acute, covered on upper side sparsely to loosely, on underside more densely with appressed to subappressed hairs up to 1.5 mm. Peduncles 3–9 cm, stout, erect, loosely to rather densely subappressed hairy, sometimes glabrescent. Racemes loosely 6–10- flowered, up to 12 cm long, at fruiting time somewhat elongated and up to 16 cm. Bracts narrowly triangular to subulate, 3–5 mm, white and black hairy. Pedicels 1–2 mm, in fruit 2–3 mm, thick, erect, predominantly white hairy. Calyx 10–13 mm, tubular, slightly obliquely gibbous at the base, slightly obliquely cut at the mouth, densely covered with medifixed to asymmetrically bifurcate, appressed to ascending, tangled white hairs c. 1 mm, with few short black hairs mixed in; teeth subulate, (2–) 2.5–5(–6) mm, densely white hairy on innerside. Petals violet, drying mostly yellowish. Standard 20–22 mm; blade 6–9 mm wide, obovate, emarginate, very slightly constricted in lower third, subabruptly contracted into the claw. Wings 19 mm; blades narrowly oblong, rounded, 8.5–9 × 2.2–2.8 mm; auricle c. 0.5 mm, claw 10 mm. Keel 16 mm; blades obliquely obovate, with in upper part rectangularly curved lower edge and slightly concave upper edge, subacute, 6 × 2.5–2.8 mm; auricle acute, c. 0.5 mm, claw 10 mm. Stamen-tube truncate at the mouth. Ovary sessile, linear, white hairy; style glabrous. Legumes sessile, erect, 10–16 mm long, c. 4 mm high and wide, slightly keeled ventrally, rounded dorsally, with a rigid beak 2–5 mm, nearly completely bilocular, opening at the ventral suture beginning at the tip; valves rather densely covered with asymmetrically bifurcate, subappressed, partly flexuose, tangled white hairs up to 1 mm, with few short black hairs mixed in. Seeds ca 3 mm long, reddish-brown. Chromosome number: 2n = 16 (TAKHTAJAN 1990).
