Tavsif · Description
Podlech & Zarre (2013), vol. III, p. 1704Plants a shrublet 60−90 cm tall, strongly branched. Rootstock stout, covered with greyish brown splitting bark. Stems branched, the old parts (10−)15−40(−50) cm, ligneous, up to 8 mm in diameter, parts of the current year 10−40 cm, in brachyblasts 5−7 cm, very densely covered with medifixed, appressed hairs 0.7−1 mm. Stipules membranous, pale brownish, 2−5 mm, adnate to the petiole for 1−2 mm, vaginate-connate high up with triangular free tips, rather densely covered with asymmetrically bifurcate, appressed hairs, glabrescent to glabrous with age. Leaves (1.5−)2−4 cm; petiole very short, 0.2−0.5 cm, together with the short rachis hairy like the stem, becoming hard and subspiny, peristent. Leaflets in 1 pair, those of lower leaves sometimes in 2 pairs, linear, 15−35(−50) × (1.5−)2−3(−4) mm, in brachyblast leaves often only 10−15 mm long, subobtuse, on both sides rather densely to densely covered with ± medifixed, appressed hairs 0.5−1(−1.5) mm. Peduncles 2−4 cm. Racemes 3−8(−13) cm long, loosely 6−many-flowered. Bracts hyaline-membranous, 1−2 mm, narrowly triangular, white hairy. Calyx 6−7(−8) mm, tubular-campanulate, densely covered with symmetrically to asymmetrically bifurcate white hairs 0.6−0.8 mm; teeth 0.5−1.2 mm, densely white hairy on inner side. Petals purple. Standard 13−15 mm; blade c. 6 mm wide, rhombic-elliptic, slightly emarginate, ± gradually narrowed into the rather long claw. Wings (10−)11−12 mm; blades narrowly oblong, obtuse, c. 5−6 × 2.5 mm; auricle short, claw 6−7 mm. Keel (9−)10−11 mm; blades obliquely elliptic, with widely curved lower edge and slightly concave upper edge, subacute, 4 × 2 mm; auricle minute, claw 6−7 mm. Stamen-tube truncate at the mouth. Ovary sessile, hairy; style glabrous. Legumes sessile, ovoid, 5−7(−8) mm long, 3(−4) mm high, c. 2−2.5 mm wide, keeled ventrally, narrowly rounded dorsally, with a slightly curved, subulate beak c. 1 mm, bilocular; valves thinly coriaceous, densely covered with soft, basifixed, ascending white hairs c. 2 mm and with very short, subappressed hairs. Chromosome number: 2n = 16 (TAKHTAJAN 1990). Occurrence: on sands.
