Podlech & Zarre (2013), vol. III, p. 1706Plants a strongly branched shrublets, 20−40 cm tall, with medifixed hairs 0.3−0.4 mm. Rootstock and old stems covered with pale brownish grey, longitudinally splitting bark. Stems of the current year 3−35 cm, branched, slightly flexuose, very densely white hairy. Stipules 1−2 mm, connate in lower part or sometimes nearly to the top, free tips triangular. Leaves 1−2(−3.5) cm; rachis covered with appressed white hairs, after falling of leaflets becoming lignified, rigid, subarcuately curved, subspiny, (1−)1.5−2.5 cm. Leaflets in 1 pairs, narrowly ovate to elliptic, 8−15 × (2−)3−7 mm, rounded, on both sides ensely appressed hairy, on underside more densely than on upper side. Peduncles 1−2.8 cm, appressed white hairy. Racemes 2−8 cm long, loosely 5−15-flowered, slightly elongating in fruit. Bracts narrowly triangular-ovate, 1−1.5 mm, covered with short white hairs. Calyx c. 7 mm, campanulate-tubular, loosely covered with appressed white hairs; teeth 1−1.5 mm, subulate. Petals violet. Standard 13−15 mm; blade 9−10 mm wide, ovate, rounded, abruptly contracted into the cuneate claw. Wings slightly shorter than than standard, obtuse. Keel shorter than the wings. Ovary appressed hairy; style glabrous. Legumes with a stipe 1−2 mm, narrowly ovoid, 8−13 mm long, 4−5 mm high, 3−4 mm wide slightly keeled ventrally, rounded dorsally, with a beak 1.5−2 mm, unilocular; valves thin, densely covered with subbasifixed, spreading white hairs c. 2 mm, sitting on little tubercles. Seeds up to 2 mm long. Occurrence: on sands.
