III, p. 2030Plants 2–8 cm tall, nearly acaulescent, loosely to densely caespitose, often forming compact mats, with appressed, mostly ± medifixed, in vegetative parts merely white hairs 0.5–1 mm. Rootstock repeatedly divided with abbreviated branches. Stipules whitish-hyaline, 3–5 mm, ovate to narrowly triangular, free from petiole, connate high up behind the stem often up to the top, loosely to rather densely white hairy. Leaves 1–4 cm; petiole 0.2–2 cm, like the rachis densely hairy. Leaflets in 1–2 pairs, narrowly elliptic, 5–12 × (1–)2−3 mm, on both sides densely hairy, mostly folded. Peduncles 1–4.5(–6) cm, densely covered with appressed white hairs, toward the raceme with black hairs mixed in. Racemes short, rather densely 5−12-flowered. Bracts whitish-hyaline, ovate-acuminate to narrowly triangular, 2–4 mm, with white, sometimes also with some black hairs mixed in. Calyx tubular, 6−9 mm, obliquely cut at the mouth, densely covered with appressed white and black hairs; teeth 1–2.5 mm, densely white hairy on inner side. Petals violet, often yellow when dry. Standard 15−20 mm; blade narrowly elliptic to oblong, 7−8 mm wide, emarginate, sometimes slightly constricted below the middle, gradually narrowed at the base. Legumes sessile, oblong, slightly falcate, (6–) 8–10 mm long, with a slender beak 1–1.5 mm, nearly unilocular; valves coriaceous, villous with short white hairs.
