Tavsif · Description
Podlech & Zarre (2013), vol. I, p. 720Plants 15−22 cm tall, acaulescent, with very fine, straight or curved hairs 0.2−1 mm. Rootstock up to 10 mm thick, branched, in upper part densely covered with remnants of old leaves. Stipules white- membranous, 12−15 mm, narrowly triangular-acuminate (the lower ones sometimes shorter and wider), longitudinally nerved, adnate to the petiole for 4−5 mm, with long, ± spreading hairs. Leaves (5−)8−15(−18) cm; petiole 1.5−3 cm, like the rachis greenish yellow or reddish suffused, densely covered with short, tangled, spreading hairs, very often hardened and surviving to the next vegetation period, glabrescent with age. Leaflets grey green, in (16−)24−33(−38) pairs, elliptic to obovate, (1.5−)2.5−5.5 × up to 3 mm, rounded to slightly retuse, sometimes minutely mucronulate, on upper side densely covered with long, flexuose, cotton wool-like hairs, on underside densely covered with tangled, subappressed hairs. Racemes subsessile with a peduncle 0.2−0.5(−1) cm, covered by spreading hairs, 1−2(−3)-flowered. Bracts white-membranous, 5−7 mm, linear-acute, hairy. Pedicels 3−5(−6) mm, sparsely hairy. Calyx tubular, (13−)16−24 mm, pale straw-colored, long hairy; teeth filiform, 4−10 mm, mostly darker green. Petals glabrous, yellow or whitish, soon changing to reddish or deeply red. Standard (26−)28−32(−39) mm: blade 7−9(−11) mm wide, oblong-panduriform to narrowly obovate-panduriform, slightly emarginate, distinctly constricted in lower third, slightly angularly passing into the claw. Wings (23−)28−30(−35) mm; blades narrowly oblong, slightly or rarely distinctly dilated upward, retuse, 13−15(−18) × 3−4(−6) mm; auricle c. 1 mm, claw 11−15(−17) mm. Keel (23−)25−28(−30) mm; blades narrowly oblong, nearly straight, obtuse, 12−13 × 1−3(−3.5) mm; auricle short, claw 12−16 mm. Stamen-tube nearly truncate at the mouth. Ovary with a stipe 2−3(−4) mm, appressed hairy; style hairy in lower half, below the stigma short papillose-hairy. Legumes subsessile to shortly stipitate, ellipsoid, 9−16 mm long, 6−8 mm high and 4−5 mm wide, sharply keeled ventrally, slightly keeled dorsally by the thick midnerv, with a nearly straight beak 2−5 mm, unilocular; valves thin but tough, straw-colored to pale brownish, sometimes reddish-suffused, long villous; fruit opening along the ventral suture. Chromosome number: 2n = 16 (TAKHTAJAN 1990).
