Tavsif · Description
Podlech & Zarre (2013), vol. I, p. 421Plants herbaceous or subshrubby to shrubby, from nearly acaulescent up 150 cm tall, mostly strongly branched at the base, mostly spiny, white hairy with at least partly widened, bladdery hairs. Stems 2–10 mm in diameter, densely covered with ± appressed short to long, often only slightly bladdery widened hairs. Stipules membranous, yellowish to green yellow, from triangular to widely triangular base shortly to long acuminate, 2–10 mm, shortly adnate to the petiole, glabrous to sparsely hairy, sometimes densely covered with short, bladdery hairs, always ciliate at the margins. Leaves 5–20(–30) cm, in the axil of the main stem leaves often with short brachyblasts with distinctly shorter leaves; petiole 1–5 cm, like the rachis densely to very densely covered with appressed or rarely ascending short to long, bladdery hairs, with slender, long spreading hairs mixed in, often becoming hard and spiny, persistent. Leaflets in 10–25(–40) pairs, ovate to elliptic, mostly emarginate, 2–10 × 2–6 mm, mostly folded, on upper side glabrous, on underside densely covered with slender, long, appressed and spreading hairs, sometimes with widely flattened hairs mixed in, often glabrescent and hairy only at midvein and margins. Racemes numerous, along the whole stem, subsessile or with a peduncle up to 5 cm, 1–6(–10)-flowered; axis 0,4–3.5(–5) cm, densely appressed hairy. Bracts yellowish to greenish yellow, 2–7 mm, narrowly triangular, subulate or ovate-acuminate, covered with bladdery hairs, ciliate at the margins. Pedicels 2–7 mm, with appressed to ascending hairs. Bracteoles filiform, 1–2 mm, at the pedicels, sometimes absent. Calyx 9–18 mm, tubular, glabrous or loosely to densely covered with appressed or ascending to spreading slender hairs, sometimes with scattered wide hairs mixed in; teeth from narrowly triangular base acuminate, 1.5–4 mm. Petals pale yellow. Standard (19–)21–28(–33) mm; blade 6–12 mm wide, oblong to obovate, emarginate, gradually narrowed into the claw. Wings 18–27(–31) mm; blades narrowly oblong, obtuse, 11–18 × 2–3.5 mm; auricle 2–4 mm, claw 9–16 mm. Keel 17–25(–27) mm; blades obliquely elliptic, 9–12 × 2.5–4 mm; auricle short, claw 9–16 mm. Stamen-tube slightly obliquely cut at the mouth. Ovary often very shortly stipitate, glabrous or with appressed wide hairs; style only sparsely hairy at the base. Legumes shortly stipitate, bilocular, different in the subspecies (see there). The species can be divided into two subspecies, different in form of the legumes.
