Podlech & Zarre (2013), vol. II, p. 1452Plants dwarf cushion forming shrublets, 20–40 cm tall, densely branched from the base. Hairs 0.1–1 mm, at the calyx up to 3.5 mm. Stems ascending, up to 37 cm, parts of the current year 0.5–5 cm, 1.5–3.5 mm in diameter, densely appressed lanate, late glabrescent. Stipules yellowish white, thinly membranaceous, triangular to widely ovate, acuminate, 5–9 mm, adnate to the petiole for 3–5 mm, with 1–3(–5) parallel nerves at free part, younger ones densely appressed tomentose, soon glabrescent. Leaves 0.9–4 cm, crowded, obliquely erect to subhorizontal; petiole 0.3–1.2 cm, like the rachis thin or thick, rigid, straight or upcurved, densely tomentose, late glabrescent; terminal spine 2–3 times longer than the uppermost leaflets. Leaflets in 5–8 pairs, greyish green, folded, 3.5–9 × 1–2 mm, narrowly oblong, acute, with a mucro 0.2–0.7 mm, on both sides densely tomentose, glabrescent with age. Synflorescence ± globose, 2–3 cm in diameter, composed of 2–4–flowered axillary clusters. Petals yellowish white, blades tinged with pink to violet, claws of wings and keel adnate to the stamen-tube for 2–3 mm. Standard 10–12 mm; blade 6–7 × 3–4 mm, pandurate-oblong, retuse, constricted at middle, hastate at base, at base wider than in upper part; claw 4–5 mm, narrowly cuneate. Wings 10.5–12 mm, as long as the standard; blades 3.8–4.8 × 1–1.2 mm, oblong, obtuse or rarely tiny mucronulate; auricle 0.3–0.5 mm, claw 7.1–7.5 mm. Keel 10.2–11 mm, slightly shorter than the wings; blade 4–4.7 × 1.5–2 mm, elliptic, obtuse; claw 6.2–7 mm. Stamens 10–11 mm, at upper 2 mm free from each other. Ovary 11–14 mm, densely appressed short hairy; style 7–8 mm, up to lower half hairy. Legumes dorsi-ventrally compressed, 4–5 mm long, 1.5–2 mm high and 2–2.7 mm wide, oblong–elliptic, sparsely appressed tomentose at base, densely appressed villous further up; beak 0.5–1 mm, straight. Seeds reddish brown to olive green, with dense black spots, 2.8–3.1 mm long and 1.5–2 mm wide.
