Podlech & Zarre (2013), vol. I, p. 670Plants 12−25 cm tall, nearly acaulescent. Rootstock strong, up to 10 mm thick, with short subterranean branches covered with remnants of old leaves. Stipules membranous 10−13 mm, narrowly triangular-acuminate, shortly adnate to the petiole, densely hairy. Leaves 12−23(−25) cm; petiole short, 1−3 cm, like the rachis rigid, mostly persistent to the next vegatation-period, covered with a double indumentum: very densely with spreading hairs 0.3−0.5 mm and sparsely with hairs 1.5−2 mm, glabrescent with age. Leaflets in (20−)23−36 pairs, narrowly oblong to narrowly ovate, 10−13 × 2−4 mm, on upper side glabrous, on underside with subappressed, soft hairs. Peduncles 3−6 cm, with spreading hairs. Racemes loosely 3−5-flowered. Bracts membranous, 3−7 mm, linear, nearly filiform-acuminate, ciliate at the margins. Pedicels 5−6 mm, with spreading hairs. Calyx 13−15 mm, tubular, densely covered with spreading hairs; teeth subulate, 4−5 mm. Petals yellow, fading red. Standard 22−29 mm; blade 9−10 mm wide, oblong-panduriform, slightly constricted in the midle, subabruptly narrowed into the short claw. Wings 19−27 mm; blades narrowly oblong, slightly dilated upward, rounded, 8−9 × 3 mm; auricle c. 3 mm, claw 10−15 mm. Keel 18−24 mm; blades oblique- elliptic, with widely curved lower edge and slightly curved upper edge, in apical part furnished with minute teeth, 8−9 × 4−4.5 mm; auricle wide, c. 1 mm, claw 10−14 mm. Stamen-tube obliquely cut at the mouth. Ovary with a stipe 3−5 mm, densely hairy; style hairy in basal part. Legumes with a stipe 4−6 mm, narrowly ellipsoid, 20−39(−50) mm long, 7−11 mm high and wide, rounded with prominent midvein ventrally, widely flattened to shallowly grooved dorsally, contracted into a beak 3−5 mm, incompletely to nearly completely bilocular; valves thin but tough, pale brown to reddish brown, densely covered with hairs 0.3−0.5 mm and sparsely with hairs 1.5−2 mm.
