Rootstock up to 12 mm thick, with a pluricipital root-crown, with thin stolons up to 5 cm. Stipules whitish-membranous, 8–17(–20) mm, narrowly triangular, adnate to the petiole for 2–4 mm, glabrous or especially the upper ones with spreading hairs at the margins and tip. Leaves (8–) 12–30(–37) cm; petiole (2–)4–7(–9) cm, like the rachis glabrous or sparsely covered with spreading hairs. Leaflets in (6–)7–13 pairs, remote. widely obovate to nearly orbicular, (6–)8–18(–22) long and nearly as wide, widely rounded to slightly retuse, un upper side glabrous, on underside densely to sparsely and in this case especially at the midvein covered with appressed hairs or sometimes nearly glabrous, ciliate at the margins.
