Stipules whitish-membranous, 7−12 mm, adnate to the petiole for 2−3 mm, the lower ones ovate, glabrous, the upper narrowly triangular, ciliate at the margins. Leaves 7–16 cm; petiole (2−)3–5 cm, like the rachis slender, loosely covered with partly ascending to partly spreading hairs 0.3−1 mm, toward the base with hairs up to 2 mm. Leaflets in 14–20 pairs, narrowly elliptic to narrowly ovate, (4−)5−12 × 1.5−5 mm, rounded, on upper side glabrous or rarely with scattered hairs, on underside loosely covered with appressed to ascending hairs. Racemes subsessile, loosely 2−3-flowered. Bracts narrowly triangular, 4−5 mm, ciliate. Pedicels 4−5 mm, glabrous. Calyx 12–13 mm, tubular, tube glabrous or with scattered hairs only; teeth subulate 3−5 mm, sparsely to loosely hairy. Petals yellow, soon changing to red. Standard 18−19 mm; blade 6−7 mm wide, elliptic to obovate, emarginate, gradually narrowed into the claw. Wings 16−18 mm; blades narrowly oblong, distinctly dilated upward, rounded, 7−8 mm; auricle c. 3 mm, claw 9−10 mm. Keel 15−16 mm; blades oblique-elliptic, with nearly rectangularly curved lower edge and ± concave upper edge, furnished with minute teeth, slightly beak-like narrowed toward the obtuse tip, 5 × 3 mm; auricle short, claw 10−11 mm. Stamen-tube strongly obliquely cut at the mouth. Ovary with a stipe 1 mm, appressed hairy; style glabrous. Legumes subsessile, ellipsoid, 8−11 mm long, c. 6 mm high, 4.5 mm wide, obtusely keeled ventrally, narrowly rounded dorsally, with a minute beak 0.5−1 mm, incompletely bilocular; valves thin but tough, straw-colored, rather densely subappressed hairy; fruit opening along the ventral suture. Seeds c. 4 × 3 mm, brown, shiny.
