Stems singular or several, ascending to erect, 7−40 cm, hollow, finely striate, glabrous or with scattered hairs only. Stipules white-membranous, from triangular base acuminate, 3−5 mm, shortly adnate to the petiole, otherwise free, sparsely ciliate. Leaves 3−7 cm, subsessile; rachis glabrous or very sparsely hairy. Leaflets in 4−9 pairs, narrowly elliptic to oblong-cuneate, (2−)4−12 × (1−)2−5 mm, widely emarginate, glabrous. Peduncles 2−4 cm, terminating in a short point. Racemes very loosely 1−4-flowered. Bracts white-membranous, narrowly triangular to narrowly ovate, 1−3 mm, ciliate. Pedicels 1−2 mm, recurved, mostly black hairy. Calyx campanulate, 3−5 mm, rather densely black hairy; teeth unequal, subulate to narrowly triangular, the lower three close together, longer than the tube, the upper two remote, distinctly shorter than the other. Petals white or often tips of wings and keel violet-suffused, the standard sometimes with violet nerves. Standard 8−11.5 × (4−)5−7 mm, ovate, distinctly emarginate, shortly cuneate at the base. Wings 6−8 mm; blades narrowly oblong, rounded, 5−6.5 × c. 2 mm; auricle very wide, c. 0.5 mm, claw 1−1.5 mm.
