Rootstock divided, branches covered with grey brownish bark. Stems branched at the base, very densely hairy, shoots of the current year up to 20 cm. Stipules whitish to pale brownish- hyalin, 2–4(–6) mm, obliquely triangular, acute, adnate to the petiole for c. 1 mm, the lower ones distinctly vaginate-connate behind the stem, the upper ones mostly free, sparsely to loosely hairy, at the margins with strongly asymmetrically bifurcate to basifixed hairs, sometimes glabrescent with age. Leaves 3–5 cm; petiole 0.5–1 cm, like the rachis rather densely to densely hairy. Leaflets in 1–2 pairs, linear, 20–40(−50) × 2.5–4(−5) mm, subobtuse to shortly acuminate or subacute, on both sides rather densely hairy. Peduncles 2–5 cm, densely hairy. Racemes 5–12 cm long, remotely many-flowered. Bracts whitish to pale brownish-hyalin, 1–2 mm, narrowly triangular, white hairy. Pedicels c. 0.5 mm, hairy. Calyx 4−5 mm, campanulate-tubular, densely covered with partly flexuose, tangled, subappressed to slightly ascending, asymmetrically bifurcate white hairs; teeth narrowly triangular, c. 1 mm. Petals purple. Standard 8–9 mm; blade c. 3.5−5 mm wide, elliptic, slightly to distinctly emarginate, gradually narrowed into the cuneate claw. Wings 7–8 mm; blades narrowly oblong, obtuse, 4 × 1 mm; auricle c. 0.5 mm, acute, claw 3–4 mm. Keel 6–7 mm; blades obliquely oblong, with widely but slightly curved lower edge and slightly concave upper edge, obtuse, 3–3.5 × 1 mm; auricle minute, claw 3–3.5 mm. Legumes sessile, ellipsoid, 4–5 mm long, 2 mm high, slightly compressed laterally, obtusely keeled ventrally, rounded dorsally, attenuate into a beak c. 1 mm, nearly fully bilocular; valves thin but tough, densely villous with spreading, fine, soft white hairs.
