Rootstock up to 10 mm in diameter, with blackish bark, branched in upper part, like the basal parts of old stems densely covered with persistent remnants of old leaves. Stems of the current year, if present, up to 1−1.5 cm, angular- sulcate, very densely covered with ± medifixed, subappressed white hairs 0.4−0.5 mm. Stipules 3−4 mm, triangular, subacute, adnate to the petiole up to the middle, otherwise free from each other, ± densely appressed white hairy. Leaves 5−10 cm; petiole 1−1.5 cm, with the rachis appressed hairy like the stem, persistent and subspinescent. Leaflets in 3−5(−7) pairs, narrowly elliptic, (5−)10−20(−30) × 2−3 mm, acute to shortly acuminate, on both sides densely covered with ± medifixed, appressed hairs c. 0.8 mm. Peduncles 2−6(−9) cm, densely white hairy like the stem, in upper part with some black hairs mixed in. Racemes ovoid, 3−4 cm long, densely many-flowered. Bracts hyaline-membranous, 1−1.5 mm, ovate-acute, white and black hairy. Pedicels c. 0.5 mm, white and black hairy. Calyx initially tubular, 8−10 mm, densely covered with strongly asymmetrically bifurcate to subbasifixed, ascending to spreading white hairs 0.8−.2 mm, with shorter black hairs mixed in, especially at the teeth; teeth subulate, 2−3 mm, densely appressed white hairy on inner side; fruiting calyx ovoid- inflated to globose, 10−12 mm. Petals violet. Standard 15−16 mm; blade 6−7 mm wide, oblong- obovate, emarginate, distinctly constricted in the middle, angularly passing into the narrowly cuneate claw. Wings 14−15 mm; blades narrowly oblong, obliquely slightly emarginate, 5.5 × 1.5 mm; auricle c. 0.5 mm, claw c. 9 mm. Keel 12−13 mm; blades obliquely elliptic, with widely curved lower edge and ± straight upper edge, subacute, 4 × 1.5 mm; auricle indistinct, claw c. 9 mm. Ovary sessile, white hairy. Legumes ovoid, 4−6 mm long, 2.5 mm high, 2 mm wide, keeled ventrally, rounded dorsally, with a hooked beak c. 2 mm, unilocular; valves thin, straw-colored, densely covered with symmetrically to asymmetrically bifurcate, appressed white hairs 0.3−0.8 mm.
