Rootstock branched, with long subterranean stolons. Stipules white-membranous, 6−20 mm, adnate to the petiole for c. 2 mm, glabrous or ciliate at the margins, the lower ones triangular-oblong, obtuse, the upper ones longer, narrowly triangular-acuminate. Leaves 12−30 cm; petiole 4−6 cm, like the rachis glabrous or loosely covered with spreading hairs 0.5−1.5 mm. Leaflets in 15−19 pairs, elliptic to ovate, (8−)10−20(−22) × 5−10 mm, shortly acuminate or narrowly truncate and minutely apiculate, glabrous or on underside rather densely subappressed hairy, more rarely sparsely hairy also on upper side. Racemes with a peduncle 1−3(−4) cm, loosely 6−10- flowered. Bracts white-membranous, 5−7 mm, linear-acute, glabrous or ciliate. Pedicels 5−8 mm, glabrous. Calyx 14−17 mm, tubular, greenish, glabrous or sparsely covered with spreading hairs; teeth linear-acuminate, unequal in length, 4−7 mm, at the tip or allover ciliate. Petals glabrous, yellow. Standard 20−25(−27) mm; blade 9−11 mm wide, obovate, emarginate, at the base gradually narrowed. Wings 18−21(−23) mm; blades narrowly oblong, rounded, 9−12 × 2.5−3 mm; auricle 1−1.5 mm, claw 10−12 mm. Keel 15−19 (−20) mm; blades elliptic, nearly straight, with gibbously curved lower edge and slightly curved upper edge, subacute, 7−9 × 4 mm; auricle indistinct, claw 10−12 mm. Stamen- tube obliquely cut at the mouth. Ovary subsessile, hairy; style below the stigma with a line of short hairlets. Legumes subsessile, obliquely narrowly oblong, 13−18 mm long, 5−6 mm high and 4−5 mm wide, keeled ventrally, slightly grooved dorsally, with a beak 1−2 mm, incompletely bilocular (septum 3/4−4/5 of the fruit’s hight); valves thinly coriaceous, rather densely long hairy. Seeds c. 4 × 2.5 mm, red brown, minutely pitted. Chromosome number: 2n = 16 (TAKHTAJAN 1990).
