Podlech & Zarre (2013), vol. III, p. 2128Plants 25–50(–100) cm tall, subshrubby, densely covered with mostly ± medifixed hairs. Rootstock divided. Stems branched, the old parts long, covered with brown, longitudinal splitting bark; branches of the current year 9–16 cm, densely covered with white and black hairs 0.4–0.8 mm. Stipules narrowly triangular, membranous, often reddish-suffused, 4–7 mm, adnate to the petiole for 1.2 mm, covered with white and predominantly black hairs. Leaves 3–7 cm; petiole short, 0.5–1 cm, like the rachis slender, narrowly grooved adaxially, sparsely to loosely white and black hairy. Leaflets in 5–6 (–8) pairs, narrowly elliptic to elliptic, narrowly rounded to minutely acuminate, 7–20(−25) × 3–10 mm, on both sides or more rarely only on underside sparsely covered with white, somtimes also with few black hairs up to 1.2 mm. Peduncles 4–7 cm, sulcate, sparsely to loosely white and black hairy. Racemes ellipsoid to oblong, 4–5 cm long, densely many-flowered, at fruiting time elongating and up to 10 cm long. Bracts whitish-membranous, linear-acute, 3–4 mm, covered with mostly strongly asymmetrically bifurcate to basifixed, spreading black and sometimes few white hairs. Pedicels 0.5–1 mm, black hairy. Calyx at anthesis 10–11 mm, tubular, rather densely covered with ± symmetrically to strongly asymmetrically bifurcate, ascending black and rarely with few white hairs up to 1 mm; teeth subulate, 2.5–3 mm; calyx soon becoming inflated, at fruiting time ovoid, 12–13(–14) mm, c. 5 mm in diameter, constricted at the mouth, loosely hairy. Petals pale yellow. Standard 16–18 mm; blade obovate, c. 7 mm wide, slightly constricted in the middle, emarginate, at the base cuneately narrowed. Wings 15–17 mm; blades narrowly oblong or slightly dilated upward, obliquely emarginate, 6–6.5 × 2.5 mm; auricle c. 0.5 mm, claw 9–9.5 mm. Keel 14–16 mm; blades obliquely obovate, with in upper third widely, nearly rectangularly curved lower edge and slightly concave upper edge, subacute, 5 × 2.5 mm; auricle short, claw 10–11 mm. Stamen-tube truncate at the mouth. Ovary subsessile, sparsely hairy; style glabrous. Legumes (immature) enclosed in the calyx, subsessile, narrowly ellipsoid, 8–9 mm long, 2.5 mm high, compressed laterally, keeled ventrally, narrowly grooved dorsally, with a slender beak c. 1 mm, bilocular; valves densely covered with mostly basifixed, spreading white and predominantly black hairs c. 1 mm.
