Podlech & Zarre (2013), vol. III, p. 1727Plants up to 100 cm tall, shrubby, strongly branched. Rootstock 5−7 mm in diameter, covered with greyish-brown bark. Stems branched, parts of the preceding years long, densely hairy, glabrescent with age; branches of the current year (5−)13−22 cm, very densely covered with medifixed, appressed white hairs 0.5−0.7 mm. Stipules membranous, whitish to pale brownish, 1.5−3 mm, adnate to the petiole for 0.5−1 mm, vaginate-connate high up with triangular free tips, sparsely hairy to mostly subglabrous to glabrous. Leaves 1.5−4 cm; petiole 0.3−0.6 cm, together with the very short rachis hairy like the stem, mostly becoming hard and persistent but not spiny. Leaflets in 1−2 pairs, narrowly elliptic to narrowly obovate, (6−)8−20 × 3−8 mm, round to retuse, on upper side sparsely to loosely, on underside densely covered with appressed hairs 0.5−1 mm. Peduncles 3−7(−12) cm, white hairy like the stem. Racemes 4−13 cm long, very loosely 10−15-flowered; axis hairy like the peduncle but often with some black hairs mixed in. Bracts membranous, 1−2 mm, narrowly triangular, with white and black hairs. Pedicels c. 1 mm, white and black hairy. Calyx 6−7 mm, campanulate-tubular, strongly obliquely cut at the mouth, rather densely covered with symmetrically to asymmetrically bifurcate, appressed white and black hairs 0.5−0.8 mm; teeth narrowly triangular, c. 1 mm, densely white hairy on inner side. Petals violet, fading yellowish. Standard 14−18 mm; blade c. 6 mm wide, obovate, slightly emarginate, ad the base gradually narrowed. Wings 12−16 mm; blades narrowly oblong, 6−7 × 1.8 mm; auricle c. 0.5 mm. Keel 9−13 mm; blades obliquely obovate, with widely curved lower edge and ± straight upper edge, obtuse, c. 5 × 2.2 mm; auricle c. 0.5 mm. Stamen-tube truncate at the mouth. Ovary with a stipe 1−1.5 mm, glabrous. Legumes with a stipe 5−6 mm, pendulous, narrowly ellipsoid, straight or slightly curved, acuminate at both ends, 13−23 mm long, 3−4 mm high, c. 1.5 mm wide, keeled ventrally and dorsally, compressed laterally, with a subulate beak 1−2 mm, bilocular; valves pale brown, glabrous.
