Rootstock with creeping, sparsely branched stolons up to 10 mm thick. Stems 1–7(–10) cm, glabrous or very sparsely covered with irregularly appressed to spreading hairs 0.5–1 mm, at the base very densely covered with remnants of old leaves and rigid but not spiny rachises. Stipules whitish-hyalin, the lower ones 5–6 mm, ovate-triangular, the upper ones up to 15 mm, narrowly triangular, all adnate to the petiole for 1–2 mm, shortly ciliate at the margins or rarely glabrous. Leaves (3–)6–10 cm, at the end of vegetation period elongating up to 25 cm; petiole 1–3 cm, later on elongating and up to 6 cm, like the rachis slender, thickened and becoming hard with age, persistent, not spiny, glabrous ot very sparsely subappressed hairy. Leaflets in (10–)13–15(–20) pairs, glaucous, remote, easily falling, narrowly oblong to oblong, 3–18 × 1–3 mm, rounded to emarginate, glabrous on both sides or on underside very sparsely hairy, mostly at the midvein and margins, mostly folded. Keel 20–22 mm; blades obliquely elliptic, with widely curved lower edge and slightly sigmoid to nearly straight upper edge, acute to shortly acuminate, 8–9 × 4 mm; auricle 0.5–1 mm, claw c. 12 mm. Stamen-tube obliquely cut at the mouth. Ovary with a stipe 2–5 mm, narrowly elliptic, glabrous. Legumes with a stipe 2–5 mm, globose to ellipsoid-inflated, 10–25 mm long, 10–12 mm high and 10–18 mm wide, slightly grooved ventrally and dorsally, with a beak 2–4 mm, nearly completely bilocular; valves thin but tough, yellowish brown, glabrous.
