Tavsif · Description
Podlech & Zarre (2013), vol. III, p. 1729Plants 25−55 cm tall, shrubby. Stems in older parts up to 8 mm in diameter, densely white hairy, glabrous with age and covered with greyish brown bark, strongly branched; parts of the current year 2−7 cm, in form of axillary brachyblasts, very densely covered with medifixed, appressed white hairs 0.8−1 mm. Stipules membranous, pale brownish with age, 1.5−2.5 mm, adnate to the petiole for c. 1 mm, vaginate-connate nearly for the whole length, with very short triangular tips, sparsely to loosely appressed white hairy, glabrescent with age, at the margins with minute glands. Leaves on the main stems 3−10(−17) cm, (in the flowering brachyblasts 2−4 cm); petiole 0.8−2.5 cm, with the rachis obliquely spreading, hairy like the stem, becoming hard and persisting and than subspiny. Leaflets in leaves of the main stem in 2−3 pairs, at flowering time mostly fallen, (1−2 pairs in leaves of axillary, flowering branches), remote, elliptic to obovate, 8−15(−30) × 3−7(−12) mm, rounded to retuse, glabrous on upper side, sparsely to loosely covered with appressed, medifixed hairs 0.3−1 mm on underside. Peduncles on the brachyblasts, 0.5−3(−5) cm, hairy like the stem. Racemes short, rather densely 4−10-flowered, slightly elongating in fruit. Bracts whitish-membranous, 1−2 mm, ovate, glabrous or with few white hairs and minute sessile glands at the margins. Pedicels c. 1 mm, white hairy. Calyx 5−7 mm, campanulate, gibbous at the base, obliquely cut at the mouth, tube sometimes glabrous or in the upper part sparsely to loosely covered with symmetrically to asymmetrically bifurcate, appressed white hairs 0.4−1 mm, at the upper margin and both sides of the teeth densely covered with subbasifixed, very thin white hairs; teeth narrowly triangular, 0.8−2 mm. Standard c. 14 mm; blade c. 8 mm wide, ovate, emarginate, subabruptly contracted into the short claw. Wings c. 12 mm, blades narrowly obovate, slightly obliquely emarginate at the tip, 7 × 3 mm; auricle c. 0.4 mm, claw 5 mm. Keel 10 mm; blades obliquely elliptic, with widely curved lower edge and nearly straight upper edge, subacute, 4.5 × 2.8 mm; auricle minute, claw 5 mm. Stamen-tube truncate at the mouth. Ovary sessile, white hairy; style glabrous. Legumes subsessile, narrowly ellipsoid to ellipsoid, 8−12 mm long, c. 4 mm high and 3−3.5 mm wide, keeled ventrally, flattened dorsally, with a curved beak c. 1 mm, bilocular; valves thin but tough, pale brownish, densely covered with basifixed white hairs c. 3 mm, sitting on little tubercles, without short hairs. Chromosome number: 2n = 16 (TAKHTAJAN 1990). Occurrence: on sands.
