Stems ascending, branches up to 30 cm, parts of the current year 2−10 cm, 2−5 mm in diameter, densely appressed hairy, glabrescent with age. Stipules yellowish, hyaline-membranous, 10−22 mm, triangular, acute, with 8−13 parallel nerves at free portion, adnate to the petiole for 6–13 mm, glabrous, ciliate at the margins. Leaves 1.2−12 cm, crowded, obliquely erect to subhorizontal, sometimes upcurved; petiole 0.4–3.2 cm, like the rachis stout, rigid, straight, densely appressed hairy, glabrescent with age; terminal spine 1/3−1/1 as long as the uppermost leaflets. Leaflets in 4−9 pairs, yellowish or silvery green, flat, 6−30 × 4−10 mm, elliptic or rarely ovate, obtuse or rarely acute, with a mucro 0.5−2 mm, on both sides densely sericeously hairy, sometimes the longer hairs subappressed, glabrescent with age. Synflorescences ± globose to short cylindrical, very dense, 3.5−5 cm diameter, composed of 5−20-flowered axillary clusters. Bracts membranous, sometimes hyaline towards the margins, yellowish, sometimes purple at tip, 8−17 × 1.2−3 mm, linear to narrowly oblong, inner ones boat-shaped, ciliate at tip and margins, otherwise glabrous. Calyx yellowish white, red or purple at teeth, tubular-turbinate, splitting with age, 13−23 mm, with 12−15 parallel nerves, densely appressed hairy; teeth from a small triangular base filiform, 7−17 mm. Petals yellowish white, blades sometimes tinged with violet, claws of wings and keel adnate to the stamen-tube only at the base or up to 1.5 mm. Standard 16−23 mm; blade 11.5−16 × 5−8 mm, oblong-pandurate, rounded or rarely retuse, constricted in lower third or at the middle, at the base obtusely or rarely acutely dilated; claw 4.5−7 mm, widely cuneate, sometimes indistinctly separated from the blade. Wings 15.5−22.5 mm; blades narrowly oblong, obtuse, 7.5−9.5 × 2−3 mm; auricle 0.4−0.8 mm, claw 8.5−13.5 mm. Keel 15.5−22 mm; blades obliquely elliptic, with widely curved lower edge and straight upper edge, obtuse or minutely mucronulate, 7−8.5 × 2−3 mm; claw 8.5−14 mm. Stamens 15−20 mm, the upper 3−4 mm free from each other. Ovary densely shortly appressed hairy; style 11−17 mm, hairy up to lower 2/3. Legumes ovoid to ellipsoid, dorsi-ventrally compressed, 5−8 mm long, 1−2 mm high and 3−5 mm wide, with a straight beak 1–1.5 mm, sparsely appressed hairy at base, densely villous further up. Seeds dark brown with dense black spots, 3.5−4.5 × 2.5−3.5 mm, rugose.
