Podlech & Zarre (2013), vol. III, p. 2337Plants 20−23 cm tall, shrubby, acaulescent. Rootstock short, with short branches, covered with old persistent and subspiny petioles. Stipules 3−4 mm, triangular, acute, free from each other, appressed white hairy. Leaves 4−8 cm; petiole and rachis densely covered with medifixed, appressed hairs c. 0.5 mm, rigid, finally becoming hard and subspiny. Leaflets in 3−5 pairs, elliptic to narrowly elliptic, 9−15 × 3−6 mm, acute, on both sides very densely hairy like the rachis. Peduncles 10−18 cm, hairy like the rachis. Racemes globose to ovoid, (2−)3−4 cm long, densely 12−25-flowered. Bracts 2−3 mm, narrowly triangular, white hairy. Flowers subsessile. Calyx initially tubular, c. 10 mm, rather densely covered with short, appressed white hairs, becoming globose-inflated, 11−14 mm long, glabrescens with age and partly completely glabrous; teeth subulate, 2−2.5 mm. Petals pale yellow. Standard 15−17 mm; blade c. 6 mm wide, obovate, subobtuse, slightly constricted below the middle, slightly auriculate-angularly passing into the short claw. Wings c. 15 mm; blades narrowly oblong, emarginate. Keel c. 14 mm. Legumes enclosed in the calyx, ovoid, 5−6 mm long, 2.5 mm high, slightly compressed laterally, with a short, curved beak.
