Tavsif · Description
Podlech & Zarre (2013), vol. II, p. 1506Plants cushion-forming shrubs, up to 1 m tall, densely branched at the base. Hairs 0.2−1.8 mm, at the calyx up to 5 mm. Stems ascending, parts of the current year up to 20 cm, 1.5−4 mm in diameter, densely villous, glabrescent with age. Stipules hyaline-membranous, 6−24 mm, narrowly ovate to ovate, acute, with 11−13 parallel nerves at free part, adnate to the petiole for 4–15 mm, sparsely appressed hairy to completely glabrous, ciliate at the margins or not. Leaves 1.2−7.5 cm, remote to crowded, obliquely erect; petiole 0.6–2.8 cm, like the rachis straight, thick, rigid, younger ones densely appressed hairy; terminal spine 1/2−1/1(−2) as long as the uppermost leaflets. Leaflets in 4−9 pairs, green, 5−17 × 1.5−3 mm, narrowly elliptic-oblong, obtuse, slightly folded, with a mucro 0.2−0.5 mm, on both sides sparsely appressed or rarely spreading hairy, soon glabrescent, upper side mostly glabrescent earlier than the underside. Synflorescences globose, 3−5 cm in diameter, composed of 5−12-flowered axillary clusters. Bracts hyaline-membranous, yellowish white, sometimes purple at tip, 10−15 × 1−4 mm, narrowly oblong to narrowly ovate, acuminate, sparsely villous at the tip, otherwise glabrous, ciliate at the margins, sometimes completely glabrous. Calyx creamy white, purple at the teeth, tubular-turbinate, splitting with age (or more rarely not), (10−)15−20 mm, densely appressed hairy; teeth from a short triangular base filiform or rarely subulate, (5–)8−14 mm. Petals with pink or red blades, the claw of wings and keel adnate to stamen-tube just at the base. Standard 15−20 mm; blade 11−12 × 5−6(−8) mm, oblong-pandurate, retuse, slightly constricted at the middle, acutely or obtusely dilated at the base, sometimes platonychioid, roundly widened at the base and wider than in upper part; claw 6−8 mm, widely cuneate. Wings 15−19 mm; blades narrowly oblong, obtuse, 7−9 × 1.5−2.2 mm; auricle 0.5−1 mm, claw 8–10 mm. Keel 14−18 mm; blades obliquely elliptic, with very widely curved lower edge and ± straight upper edge, 6.5−8 × c. 2.5 mm; claw 7−11.5 mm. Stamens c. 14−18 mm, the upper 3 mm free from each other. Ovary very densely appressed shortly hairy. Legumes unkonwn. Chromosome number: 2n = 16 (TAKHTAJAN 1990).
