Podlech & Zarre (2013), vol. III, p. 2140Plants 14−25 cm tall, subshrubby. Rootstock with slender branches. Stems of the current year 3−9 cm, very densely covered with medifixed, appressed white hairs c. 1 mm. Stipules hyaline- membranous, 4−6 mm, narrowly triangular, nearly free from the petiole but behind the stem high up vaginate-connate, sparsely appressed hairy to subglabrous. Leaves 5−15 cm; petiole 1.5−7 cm, like the rachis sulcate adaxially, loosely to rather densely hairy like the stem. Leaflets in 1 pair or only the terminal one, elliptic to ovate, 15−55 × 10−40 mm, obtuse to shortly acuminate, often with a mucro 0.2−1 mm, on both sides loosely covered with medifixed, appressed hairs 0.8−1.5 mm. Peduncles 9−18 cm, densely white hairy like the stem, below the raceme sometimes with black hairs mixed in. Raceme at anthesis densely 10−15-flowered, elongating in fruit and 7−8 cm long; axis with white and black hairs. Bracts hyalin-membranous, 3−4 mm, narrowly triangular to ovate-triangular, sparsely covered with white and black hairs, at the margins with sessile minute glands. Pedicels 1−2 mm, black hairy. Calyx initially tubular, soon ovoid-inflated, enlarging in fruit and 18−20 mm, membranous, straw-colored, reticulately nerved with 8−10 main nerves, at anthesis rather densely to densely, in fruit more loosely covered with medifixed, appressed, white and predominantly black hairs 0.8−1.5 mm; teeth narrowly triangular, 1−1.5 mm, on inner side covered with basifixed, thin, white, tangled hairs. Petals pale yellowish. Standard 19−20 mm; blade 5−8 mm wide, narrowly elliptic to ovate, obtuse, ± gradually narrowed into a rather long claw. Wings 18−19 mm; blades narrowly oblong, obtuse, 10 × 2.5−3 mm; auricle c. 1 mm, claw 8−9 mm. Keel 14−15 mm; blades obliquely elliptic, with in upper part widely curved lower edge and nearly straight upper edge, obtuse, 5 × 3 mm; auricle 0.8−1 mm, claw c. 9 mm. Stamen-tube truncate at the mouth. Ovary subsessile, narrowly ellipsoid, loosely white hairy; style slender, glabrous. Legumes subsessile, enclosed in the calyx, oblong to ellipsoid, 11−12 mm long, 5−6 mm high and 2.5−3 mm wide, keeled ventrally, narrowly grooved dorsally, with a beak c. 0.5 mm, bilocular; valves thin but tough, loosely covered with ± basifixed, spreading white hairs 2−3 mm, sitting on little tubercles. Seeds two in each locule.
