Rootstock rather long, woody, strongly divided, the aerial branches covered with greyish brown, longitudinally peeling bark. Stems branched, with numerous, short sterile offshoots, parts of the current year (3−)5−13 cm, very densely covered with medifixed, appressed white hairs 0.8−1 mm. Stipules 1.5−2 mm, triangular, adnate to the petiole for 0.5−0.6 mm, densely white hairy. Leaves 1−2 cm; petiole and rachis together 0.5−1 cm, slender, densely hairy like the stem. Leaflets in 1−2 pairs, narrowly elliptic to narrowly obovate, 7−15 × 2−3 mm, rounded, on both sides rather densely to densely covered with medifixed, appressed white hairs c. 1 mm; leaves of the sterile side-branches mostly subsessile, with 1 pair of leaflets.
