Podlech & Zarre (2013), vol. III, p. 2108Plants 5−12 cm tall, acaulescent or nearly so, subshrubby, loosely caespitose. Rootstock branched. Stems in older parts ligneous, prostrate, 1−4 cm, with short, sterile side-branches; parts of the current year up to 1.5(−2) cm, at the base with several, very short, densely leafy, sterile side-branches. Stipules white-membranous, 4−5 mm, adnate to the petiole up to 1−2 mm, distinctly vaginate-connate, densely covered with subbasifixed ± appressed white hairs 1 mm and with some medifixed black hairs 0.2−0.3 mm. Leaves 1−1.5 cm; petiole and rachis densely covered with subbasifixed, subappressed to ascending white hairs 0.6−0.8 mm. Leaflets in (1−)2−3 pairs, close together, narrowly obovate, 3−7 × 1−2.5 mm, obtuse to subacute, mucronulate, on both sides densely hairy like the rachis. Peduncles 1.5−3(−4) cm, hairy like the leaves, below the raceme with isolated black hairs mixed in. Racemes rather loosely 9−15-flowered, 2.5−3.5 cm long. Bracts dimorphic, the lower ones narrowly ovate, the upper ones narrowly triangular, 2.5−4 mm, white or white and black hairy. Flowers subsessile. Calyx 11−12 mm, tubular, rather densely covered medifixed, appressed black hairs 0.2−0.3 mm and with subbasifixed ascending to spreading, tangled white hairs 0.6−0.8 mm, partly glabrescent with age; teeth subulate, 2−3 mm. Petals pale violet, finally turning yellow. Standard 20−22 mm; blade 7−8 mm wide, rhombic, shortly triangularly narrowed upward, scarcely emarginate, with a rather short claw. Wings 18−20 mm, ; blades narrowly oblong, rounded, c. 6−7 mm. Keel 17−18 mm; blades c. 5 mm. Ovary with a stipe c. 1 mm, densely sericeous. Legumes subsessile, linear, mostly slightly curved, 30−45 mm long, c. 2 mm high, keeled ventrally, rounded dorsally, with a subulate beak (15−)20−30 mm, bilocular; valves coriaceous, densely covered with very short subappressed, tangled hairs and with subbasifixed, ascending white hairs c. 1 mm.
