Stems (2−)5–20 cm, ascending to nearly erect, angular- sulcate, loosely covered with appressed white and partly also black hairs, often glabrescent with age. Stipules whitish or greenish, 4–10 mm, free from the petiole but sometimes shortly connate before it, behind the stem highly up vaginate-connate, with triangular, acuminate free tips, very sparsely white and black hairy and ciliate at the margins, with minute glands. Leaves 3–13 cm; petiole 0.5–2 cm, like the rachis grooved adaxially, loosely covered with appressed hairs. Leaflets in 7–14 pairs, ± narrowly elliptic, (3–)5–12(–18) × (1–)2–5 mm, rounded to slightly retuse, on upper side glabrous or sparsely to loosely hairy, often only toward the margins, on underside loosely covered with appressed white hairs. Peduncles 1–10 cm, finely striate-sulcate, loosely to densely nearly merely black hairy, more rarely white and black or predominantly white hairy. Racemes rather densely 4–15-flowered. Bracts whitish, narrowly ovate, acute, 2–3 mm, loosely black hairy. Pedicels c. 1 mm, black hairy. Calyx 7–10 mm, tubular, slightly obliquely cut at the mouth, loosely to rather densely covered with appressed short black, more rarely white and black or merely white hairy hairs, sometimes with spreading white hairs up to 1 mm mixed in; teeth unequal, the lower three 1–3 mm, crowded, the upper two distinctly shorter, remote, black hairy on inner side. Petals blue-violet, pale blue or pale lilac, often yellow when dry. Standard 16–22 mm; blade elliptic, 6–9 mm wide, distinctly emarginate, at the base gradually narrowed into the rather wide claw. Wings 15–20 mm; blades narrowly oblong, slightly dilated upward, ± distinctly obliquely emarginate, 7–10 × 2–3 mm; auricle 0.8–1 mm, curved, claw 8–10 mm. Keel 12–15 mm; blades nearly triangular-curved, with in upper third widely curved lower edge and nearly straight to slightly sigmoid upper edge, subacute, 4–5 × 2–2.5 mm; auricle acute, claw 8–10 mm. Stamen-tube truncate at the mouth. Ovary with a stipe 1–3 mm, hairy. Legumes with a stipe (1–) 2–4 mm, narrowly oblong to narrowly ellipsoidal, 12–15(–17) mm long, c. 3 mm high and wide, widely keeled ventrally, widely and deeply grooved dorsally, with a straight or curved beak 1–2 mm, bilocular; valves thin, rather densely covered with appressed to spreading, predominatly black hairs, sometimes also densely with white hairs. Chromosome number: 2n = 16 (TAKHTAJAN 1990).
