Podlech & Zarre (2013), vol. I, p. 643Plants 30−45 cm tall, acaulescent or very shortly caulescent, covered with white, in the inflorescence also with greyish or scattered black hairs 0.2−0.5 mm. Rootstock up to 10 mm thich. with a pluricipital root-crown, sometimes with short subterranean branches covered with remnants of old leaves. Stipules whitish-membranous or sometimes slightly brownish, 10−19 mm, densely hairy on outer side, on inner side (upper side) at the base densely, otherwise sparsely to loosely hairy, the lower ones ovate-obtuse, very shortly adnate to the petiole, the upper ones triangular-acute, free from the petiole. Leaves 20−40 cm; petiole 1−5 cm, like the rachis thick and rigid, at the base up to 3.5 mm thick, very densely covered with spreading hairs. Leaflets in 15−23 pairs, mostly close together and with overlapping margins, ovate to elliptic, 12−30 × 8−20 mm, rounded to sometimes slightly emarginate, minutely mucronulate. on upper side loosely to rather densely appressed hairy, glabrescent with age to rarely glabrous, on underside very densely hairy. Racemes subsessile or with a stout peduncle up to 2 cm, with dense spreading hairs, 4−16-flowered. Bracts linear-acuminate, 8−12 mm, white hairy, sometimes with some greyish or blackish hairs mixed in. Pedicels 1−3 mm, white hairy. Calyx 18−22(−25) mm, tubular, densely covered with short, spreading white hairs, with some black hairs mixed in; teeth subulate, 7−8 mm. Petals glabrous, yellow, fading or drying red. Standard 28−32(−35) mm; blade elliptic, emarginate, slightly angularly passing into the short claw. Wings 27−29(−32) mm; blades narrowly oblong, rounded, 13−15 × 3−4.5 mm; auricle 2.5−3 mm, claw 17−20 mm. Keel 26−28(−30) mm; blades elliptic-curved, with slightly gibbously curved lower edge and slightly concave upper edge, obtuse, 8−12 × 4−5 mm; auricle short, acute, claw 15−18 mm. Stamen-tube nearly truncate at the mouth. Ovary sessile or shortly stipitate, hairy; style hairy in lower half. Legumes sessile or with a stipe up to 2 mm, oblong to ellipsoid, 15−20 mm long, 7−10 mm high and 5−6 mm wide, keeled ventrally, flattened to narrowly rounded dorsally, with a straight beak 3−5 mm, incompletely bilocular (septum 1/2−2/3 of the fruit’s hight); valves thin but tough, straw-colored to pale brownish, very densely covered with short spreading white hairs, sometimes with some longer hairs mixed in. Seeds 2−3 mm long, yellowish to brownish, smooth.
