Rootstock with a pluricipital root-crown, sometimes with short subterranean stolons. Stipules thin, white-membranous, 13−16 mm, at the base oblique, auricle-like adnate to the stem, adnate to the petiole for c. 2 mm, the lower ones widely ovate, the upper ones triangular-acute, at the margins rigidly ciliate. Leaves 15−30 cm; petiole 6−10 cm, like the rachis glabrous or with scattered, spreading hairs. Leaflets in 9−13 pairs, ovate to suborbicular, 15−27 × 12−22(−27) mm, rounded, on upper side glabrous, on underside at midvein and margins sparsely subappressed hairy. Racemes 5−7 cm, sessile or with a glabrous peduncle up to 3 cm, loosely 6−10-flowered. Bracts white-membranous, 8−14 mm, narrowly ovate to narrowly triangular, sparsely ciliate at the margins. Pedicels 2−3 mm, glabrous. Bracteoles often existent, 1.5−4 mm, narrowly triangular-acuminate, in the middle of the pedicel. Calyx 16−20 mm, tubular, glabrous or very sparsely furnished with ascending hairs, at the teeth mostly slightly more densely ciliate; teeth unequal, linear-acuminate, 3−5 mm. Petals glabrous, yellow. Standard 30−33 mm; blade obovate, slightly emarginate, subangularly passing into the short claw. Wings 27−30 mm; blades narrowly oblong, rounded, 11−13 × 3.5−4 mm; auricle 2−2.5 mm, claw 15−17 mm. Keel 23−26 mm; blades oblique-elliptic, with in the middle gibbously curved lower edge and concave upper edge, subacute, 8−9 × 4−5 mm; auricle c. 1.5 mm, claw 15−17 mm. Stamen-tube nearly truncate at the mouth. Ovary with a stipe c. 1 mm, with rigid hairs; style glabrous. Legumes subsessile, oblong to ellipsoid, 11−20 mm long, 8−9 mm high and 4−6 mm wide, keeled ventrally, rounded to shallowly grooved dorsally, with a beak 3−5 mm, nearly fully bilocular: valves coriaceous, pale brown or somtimes red brown suffused, longitudinally rugulose, sparsely covered with rigid, ascending hairs.
