Hairs 0.1−1 mm, at the calyx up to 2.5 mm, mostly stronly curled. Stems from prostrate base ascending, up to 50 cm; parts of the current year 1−14 cm, 1.5−4.5 mm in diameter, very densely lanate, glabrescent with age. Stipules chartaceous, toward the margins somewhat thinner, yellowish white, 4−11 mm, adnate to the petiole for 3−5 mm, younger ones densely tomentose, mostly late glabrescent. Leaves 0.7−6 cm, obliquely erect to subhorizontal, rarely deflexed; petioles 0.1−1.5 cm, like the rachis thick or rarely slender, rigid, densely spreading hairy, late or soon glabrescent; terminal spine 1/2−3 times as long as the uppermost leaflets. Leaflets in (3−)4−8(−12) pairs, grey green to green, often strongly folded, narrowly oblong to narrowly elliptic, 3−12 × 1−2 mm, acute, with a mucro 0.5−1.5 mm, on both sides sparsely to densely tomentose, soon or late glabrescent. Synflorescences globose to long cylindric, 1−8 cm long and 1.5−2 cm in diameter, composed of 2−3- flowered axillary clusters. Bracts 4−6 mm, linear to narrowly oblong, often incurved in upper part, boat-shaped, densely tomentose in upper third, glabrous toward the base or sometimes throughout, ciliate at the margins or not. Calyx turbinate, splitting with age, yellowish with green teeth, which are becoming brown with age, 4−6 mm, with 9−14 parallel nerves, very densely appressed villous except of the glabrous base; teeth 1−3 mm. Petals creamy or pale yellow, blades often pink toward the margins, often violet or purple veined, claws of wings and keel adnate to the stamen-tube for 1−2 mm. Standard 7−11 mm, platonychioid, oblong-pandurate, slightly retuse, constricted at middle or in upper third, in lower part dilated and wider than in upper part, upper part 2.5−4 mm wide, below the constriction 3.5−6 mm wide, sometimes stenonychioid, oblong-pandurate, then the blade 4.5−6 long and 2−3 mm wide in upper part, 3.5−4.5 mm wide in lower part, acutely dilated at the base or rarely auriculate; claw widely cuneate. Wings 7−10 mm; blades narrowly oblong, obtuse, 3−4 × 0.6−1 mm; auricle 0.3−0.8 mm, claw 4.5−6.8 mm. Keel 7−10 mm; blades obliquely elliptic, 3−5 × 1.2−2 mm, with widely curved lower edge and ± straight upper edge, obtuse, 3−5 × 1.2−2 mm; auricle minute, claw 4−6.5 mm. Stamens 7−10 mm, the upper 1.5−2 mm free from each other. Ovary densely appressed shortly hairy; style 5−8 mm, hairy in lower third. Legumes ovoid to ellipsoid, 4−6 mm long, 1−2 mm high and 2−3 mm wide, with a straight beak 0.7−1.5 mm, toward the base sparsely to densely shortly appressed tomentose, densely appressed villous upward. Seeds light to dark brown, with sparse black dots, 2.5−3.2 × 1.5−2 mm.
