Podlech & Zarre (2013), vol. III, p. 1744Plants shrubby, up to 70 cm tall. Rootstock ligneous, branched. Stems branched, the parts of the current year 6−55 cm, very densely covered with medifixed, appressed white hairs 0.8−1 mm. Stipules membranous, 1.5−4 mm, adnate to the petiole for up to 2 mm, vaginate-connate up to the middle or higher up, loosely appressed hairy to subglabrous. Leaves 1−5 cm; petiole 0.4−2 cm (leaves of brachyblasts shorter, subsessile), densely hairy like the stem, becoming hard and persistent, often subspiny. Leaflets in (1−)2(−3) pairs, in upper leaves often in 1 pair, narrowly elliptic, 6−15 × 1.5−3 mm, obtuse to subacute at the tip, on both sides rather densely to densely covered with medifixed, appressed hairs c. 1 mm. Peduncles 0.8−2 cm, densely to very densely hairy like the stem. Racemes rather loosely (2−)3−8-flowered, slightly elongating in fruit and 2−6 cm long. Standard 12−14 mm; blades 4−5 mm wide, obovate, slightly emarginate, at the base gradually narrowed into the short claw. Wing 11−13 mm; blades narrowly oblong, obtuse, 6−7 × 2 mm; auricle c. 0.5 mm, claw 6−7 mm. Keel 9−10 mm; blades obliquly obovate, with in upper part rectangular- curved lower edge and nearly straight upper edge, subacute, 3.5−4 × 2−2.5 mm; auricle minute, claw 5−6 mm. Stamen-tube truncate at the mouth. Ovary sessile, densely hairy. Legumes sessile, ovoid, 6−8 mm long, c. 4 mm high, 2 mm wide, narrowly rounded ventrally and dorsally, with a slightly curved beak c. 2 mm, bilocular; valves thin, densely covered with basifixed, spreading hairs 3−4 mm and with very short, ± medifixed, subappressed hairs. Seeds one in each locule, 4 × 2.5 mm.
