Stems of the previous years thick, covered with grey bark; parts of the current year short, 1−4 cm, very densely covered with medifixed, appressed white hairs c. 0.5(−0.7) mm. Stipules 1−1.5 mm, nearly free from the petiole, vaginate- connate mostly high up, densely appressed hairy. Leaves 1.5−2 cm, subsessile to sessile; rachis short, densely hairy like the stem, elongating with age and 2−4(−5) cm, becoming hard and persistent, spiny. Leaflets in 1−3 pairs, narrowly oblong, 8−18 × 1.5−2 mm, obtuse, on both sides loosely to densely covered with appressed hairs 0.7−1 mm, the leaflet petioles at the base mostly with sessile minute glands. Peduncles 1−3 cm, densely hairy like the stem, with scattered black hairs mixed in. Racemes short, 1−2 cm long, loosely 3−5(−8)-flowered; axis with more black hairs than the peduncle. Bracts membranous, 1−1.5 mm, ovate, covered with scattered black hairs. Pedicels 1−2 mm, predominantly black hairy. Stamen-tube truncate at the mouth. Ovary sessile, densely white hairy; style glabrous. Legumes sessile, narrowly ellipsoid, 8−12 mm long, 4−4.5 mm high, 3.5−4 mm wide, obtusely keeled by the thick midvein ventrally and dorsally, with a beak up to 3 mm, bilocular; valves thin, straw-colored, densely covered with basifixed, subappressed to slightly ascending white hairs 1.5−2 mm and with ± medifixed, appressed, flexuose very short hairs. Seeds 4−6, 1−2 mm long, smooth.
